No. 24 Cougars battle TCU in NCAA First Round
PROVO, Utah – No. 24 BYU women's soccer travels to TCU on Friday, Nov. 9 for the First Round of the 2018 Women's Soccer NCAA Tournament.

WCC POSTSEASON AWARDS. After earning the West Coast Conference title outright, the Cougars headlined many postseason awards. Head coach Jennifer Rockwood was named Coach of the Year after leading her team to a conference championship after being picked to finish third in the preseason poll. Elise Flake and Mikayla Colohan were named to the All-WCC First Team while Rachel Bingham Lyman and Alyssa Jefferson were named to the Second Team. Sabrina Macias Davis and Olivia Wade earned Honorable Mention Honors and Wade joined Bella Folino on the All-Freshman Team.
NCAA TOURNAMENT HISTORY. BYU has now made the NCAA Tournament in 19 of its 24 seasons as a program. Although the Cougars didn't make it in 2017, they most recently made it to the Third Round in 2016, falling to South Carolina. BYU's most successful tournament berths came in 2003 and 2012 when the Cougars played in the quarterfinal.
NATIONAL RANKINGS. The United Soccer Coaches ranked BYU No. 24 in the most recent national poll and Top Drawer Soccer has the Cougars as No. 23 after climbing into the polls last week. This is the first time BYU has been ranked in 2018.
THE HORNED FROGS. TCU has made the NCAA tournament for the third-straight year after finishing tied for third place in the Big 12 Conference. In 2017, the Horned Frogs fell 2-1 at Arizona in the first round of the tournament. Messiah Bright was named the Co-Big 12 Freshman Player of the Year after scoring five goals so far, this season. On its home turf, TCU is 7-1-2 with the only loss coming against nationally ranked West Virginia.
COUGARS VS. HORNED FROGS. The two teams have a lengthy history together after competing in the Mountain West Conference, but the Cougars are undefeated after topping the Horned Frogs in nine games. Most recently, BYU earned a 1-0 win at TCU in 2010.
