BYU on two-game road trip to face Missouri and LMU

PROVO, Utah – No 21. BYU women's soccer hits the roads for its next two games this week, facing Missouri and LMU.

Wednesday’s game against Missouri will be streamed on the SEC+ Network, and available to watch via ESPN.com. BYU Sports Network radio coverage will be carried on BYU Radio 107.9 FM, with audio play-by-play also streaming on the BYU Cougars app and at BYUCougars.com/LiveRadio for both games.

IN THE RANKINGS. BYU is ranked No. 21 in the TopDrawerSoccer national rankings. The first National Soccer Coaches Association Poll will be released later this month.

LAST TIME ON THE FIELD. BYU made its West Coast Conference debut for the 2020-21 season with a nail-biting 3-2 win over the University of San Francisco at the Zions Bank Real Academy on Saturday. All-American Mikayla Colohan scored what ended up being the game-winning goal in the 72nd minute, breaking BYU’s two-game losing streak and solidifying BYU’s third consecutive win over San Francisco. The other two goals were scored by Mikaylie Call in the 16th minute and Bella Folino in the 60th.

THE TIGERS. Missouri has been playing their 2020 season since Sept. 27, 2020, with The Tigers last game was on Feb. 25 against Creighton, starting its spring season. The game was scoreless for the first 70 minutes, until junior Julissa Cisneros scored the lone goal for the match. Missouri is ranked No. 3 in the SEC-East rankings.

COUGARS VS. TIGERS. Wednesday’s match against the Cougars and Tigers will be the first time the two teams meet.

THE LIONS. Loyola Marymont is coming off a 2-0 loss to San Diego last Saturday, Feb. 27. The Toreros scored first in the 29th minute and then added to their lead in the 83rd minute, and kept LMU to 11 shots on goal.

COUGARS VS. LIONS. BYU is 9-1-1 all-time versus the Lions. The teams last met on Nov. 9, 2019, where BYU was dominant in an 8-1 victory. No. 4 BYU’s win over the Lions brought BYU the West Coast Conference title and finished the season undefeated for the first time in program history.
