BYU to host Idaho State Thursday at South Field
PROVO, Utah — No. 18 BYU women's soccer will host Idaho State this week on Thursday, Sept. 16 at South Field.
Thursday’s matchup is scheduled for 7 p.m. MDT on byutv.org and the BYUtv app. The game will also be carried live on the BYU Sports Network — BYU Radio 107.9 FM/BYU Cougars App.
IN THE RANKINGS. BYU is currently ranked No. 18 in the NCAA DI women's soccer poll. Additionally, BYU is ranked No. 18 in the Top Drawer Soccer college soccer national ranking.
LAST TIME ON THE FIELD. Last Saturday, the Cougars scored seven goals for the second time this season on South Field and defeated the Tigers of Missouri 7-4. Cameron Tucker moved to No. 13 on the all-time goal list for BYU, after scoring two goals in the match. Also, freshman Abbie Kotter scored a career-high two goals.

THE BENGALS. The Bengals are 0-7-1 on the season, following a seven-game losing streak, and haven't made it to the NCAA Tournament since 2012. On the season, the Bengals have recorded four goals with one from freshman forward Mia Cartwright, and the other three from freshman forward Deborah Pond. Altogether, the Bengals have 24 freshmen out of 28 players on the 2021 roster.
COUGARS VS. BENGALS. Overall, the Cougars and Bengals have met ten times (BYU is 8-2-0). The last matchup between the two teams in 2018 was historic in the fact that BYU scored the second-most goals of all-time in a match for BYU: 10. The Cougars won 10-0 in the 2018 matchup and current players Cameron Tucker, Mikayla Colohan, Bella Folino and Kendell Petersen each scored at least one goal on the night.
