PROVO, Utah — No. 20 BYU women's soccer will host its second WCC competition of the week, playing San Diego on Saturday, Oct. 9 at South Field.

Saturday’s matchup is scheduled for 5 p.m. MDT on byutv.org and the BYUtv app. The game will also be carried live on the BYU Sports Network — BYU Radio 107.9 FM/BYU Cougars App.

IN THE RANKINGS. Unranked for the past two weeks, BYU is now listed at No. 20 in this week's NCAA DI women's soccer poll.

LAST TIME ON THE FIELD. The Cougars defeated Saint Mary's 7-0 on Thursday, with a historic four-goal night from senior forward Cameron Tucker. Tucker's four goals earned her a spot in the record books for most goals scored in a single game by a BYU player, joining BYU greats Shauna Rohbock, Jenni Willardson and Bobbi Tillotson. Sophomore Olivia Smith scored the first goal of her career in a BYU jersey. BYU's shut out win over Saint Mary's generated its fourth game with seven goals scored in a match by the Cougars on South Field this season. Also, Saint Mary’s entered South Field on Wednesday having allowed just five goals all season. The Cougars have out scored their opponents 13-1 in two games of WCC play this season.

WCC WEEKLY AWARDS. Mozingo won this week's West Coast Conference Offensive Player of the Week award on Monday. This award marked the third WCC weekly honor collected by BYU for the 2021 season and second-ever individual career honor for Mozingo.

Earlier this week, the Toreros hosted No. 6 Pepperdine and ended up losing 4-0. Last season, the Toreros only won one game, with a 1-7-1 overall record, and haven't made the NCAA Tournament since 2014.

COUGARS VS. TOREROS. Since joining the WCC, the Cougars have beaten the Toreros 10 times, with BYU winning the last three years in a row. (BYU is 10-3-0).
