On The Road & At Home This Week
PROVO, Utah - The BYU women's soccer team will play two games this week, one on the road this Tuesday, August 30, at Idaho State and one at home on Friday, September 2, against Cal State Fullerton.
Tuesday's game against the Bengals kicks off at 4 p.m. MT and will be broadcast live on BYU radio with Robbie Bullough (@RobbieBullough) calling the game. Friday's match-up will be televised live on BYUtv and online for free at byutv.org/live. The Cougars travel to Pocatello, Idaho, with an even 1-1-1 record after their most recent loss to ACC foe Miami at home. Six different players for BYU have scored the six goals in the 2011 stat book and head coach Jennifer Rockwood takes an all-time 5-2 record against the Benglas on the road with her.
Goals for BYU this season have been scored by Carlee Payne, Jessica Ringwood, Auna Doria, Dana Oldroyd, Jaiden Thornock and Niki Fernandes. Senior goalie McKinzie Olson has tallied 284 minutes and eight saves in front of the net.
The Bengals boast a 3-0 record as they get set to host BYU with wins over Southern Utah, Northwest Nazarene and Nevada. Amanda Ellsworth leads the Idaho State offense with three goals this season and 11 shots.
With record identical to the Cougars (1-1-1), the Titans come to Provo for their first road game of the 2011 season after their most recent overtime loss to Pepperdine. Cal State Fullerton returned six starters to this season's roster.
