SANTA CLARA, Calif. - The BYU women's soccer team played its third tie game of the season against No. 13 Santa Clara on the road, Thursday, to a scoreless finish as it makes its way through action in the WCC.

Jessica Ringwood, Lindsi Lisonbee, Kyleigh Royall and Niki Fernandes led the BYU offense with two shots apiece while Lauren Cosby contributed one herself for a team total of nine to Santa Clara's 19 in the 110 minutes of soccer action.

The Broncos are the fourth team this season with a top-25 ranking to go up against the Cougars.

BYU struggled to create opportunities in the first half as Santa Clara out-shot the Cougars eight to zero. The second half, however, saw a rejuvinated BYU squad that took seven shots as they tried to find a gamewinner. With just three minutes to play in regulation, Lisonbee took a free kick that almost snuck past Bronco goalie Bianca Henninger but was saved to send the game into overtime.

Both teams took just one shot in the first overtime but back-and-forth action with no goals sent the game into a second overtime that, again, saw no goals. Lisonbee had the last say in double overtime with another free kick that sailed just high of the Santa Clara net.

Senior McKinzie Olson made four saves for BYU against the Broncos and is now just two away from becoming BYU's all-time career saves leader.

The Cougars continue their play on the road with a game against the Gonzaga Bulldogs in Washington on Saturday, Oct. 15, at 1 p.m. PT.
