- Was four-time All-Bay League, twice being named the league's most outstanding player
- Was the 2008 Daily Breeze Player of the year
- Team was three-time Bay League Champions
- Was All-CIF and all-state as a senior
- Was undefeated in high school as a pitcher, going 8-0 with five saves and a 0.67 ERA as a senior
- Also batted .420 as a senior
- Lettered three times in football, taking his team to the CIF championship for the second time in school history
- Football team won the Bay League title in 2006, with a record of 12-1-1
- Was all-league in 2006 for football
- Was recruited by Fresno St., Arizona, Utah State and San Diego State in football before being injured in 2007
- Member of the 2006 USA Junior National Team
- Had a 10-inning shutout at Palos Verdes throwing 129 pitches
- Was drafted in the 42nd round of the 2008 Major League Draft by the Kansas City Royals
- Recruited in baseball by Long Beach State, Cal-Fullerton and UC-Irvine

Freshman Year
2009
- Named to the Freshman All-American team by Ping!Baseball and selected to the Mountain West Conference all-tourney team
- Had four starts, including a complete game in a 5-1 victory to eliminate New Mexico from the MWC Tournament
- Also had another victory over New Mexico earlier in the year along with wins at Washington where he had eight strikeouts, Utah, Western Carolina, and a three-hitter at Wichita State
- His save came in game three of the regular season against UNLV
- Had nine strikeouts in a relief appearance against Utah and seven strikeouts in a relief appearance at Utah Valley
Sophmore Year
2012
- Recorded victories at UC Riverside, at Utah, at Seattle, at San Francisco and vs. Santa Clara.
- The only Cougar starter to record two league wins out of BYU's 10 WCC victories.
