At BYU

JUNIOR: Selected to the All-Mountain West Tournament Team following his best performance of the season with 8.2 innings, giving up just three runs on six hits with six strikeouts against San Diego State to lead BYU to the MWC tourney title ... in that game he retired 13 of the first 15 hitters he faced ... got his first start of the season at the beginning of May in a victory over Southern Utah ... picked up his second victory of the season to lead off the series in Provo against New Mexico ... recorded his only save against Santa Clara ... honored as a scholar-athlete by the Cougar Club.

Before BYU

Prepped at LaQuinta High where he earned the scholar athlete award ... was two-time, first-team all-league ... was all-county and All-CIF ... lettered three times and made the all-star team ... represented California in the Sun Belt Classic and played in the Connie Mack World Series ... played for the Mariners' scout team ... was 12-2 with a 1.3 ERA as a junior and 12-3 with a 1.45 ERA as a senior ... ranked third in the county for number of perfect games (3) and no-hitters (4) ... coached by Dave Demarest.

Played in 2000 and 2001 for Long Beach City College ... had a 5-5 record with a 3.09 ERA in 14 appearances, 12 starts, three complete games and one save ... at LBCC he had a team-high 84.1 innings and struck out 45 ... was all-conference ... played in the JC all-star game ... coached by Casey Crook.
