Career Summary

After redshirting her first season, Alexa Strid became a four-year starter for the Cougars and helped them win the conference title and advance to NCAA Regionals each of those seasons. She began her BYU career at shortstop as a freshman, spent sophomore year in the outfield and moved back to shortstop as a junior and senior. An All-West Coast Conference First Team selection in 2016 and 2017, she was also named to the All-WCC Second Team in 2018. A team captain her senior year, Strid finished the season ranked No. 3 in on-base percentage (.491) among all seniors in program history.

  • One of her biggest sports thrills to date is having a picture of her playing softball at ESPN's Wide World of Sports appear on Disney's home page, a Dick's Sporting Goods catalog and two large murals in The Milk House at ESPN's Wide World of Sports building
BYU Hall of Fame

Freshman Year 2015

  • Drove in two runs in the 8-7 win over Fresno State in the Eugene NCAA Regional
  • Went 2 for 3 in the third game against San Diego
  • Notched her first collegiate home run in the second game against Oklahoma State
  • Hit 1-for-2 against Northwestern with a double and a run scored
  • Drove in two RBI in the 9-0 win over UTEP while going 2-for-3 at the plate
  • Started 47 of 49 games played
Sophmore Year 2016

  • All-WCC First Team
  • Third on the team in batting average (.328)
  • Went 3 for 3 in the win over Harvard
  • Totaled three hits, three RBI and two runs in three games against LMU
  • Went 2 for 4 with three RBI at Pacific
  • Tallied two hits in each of 10 of 15 conference games, including in all three games at San Diego
Junior Year 2017

  • Notched a career-high 4 RBI vs. Detroit Mercy
