SAMMAMISH, Wash. – BYU women’s golf looks to continue to improve as it heads to the Edean Ihlanfeldt Invitational Oct. 9-10 at Sahalee Country Club in Sammamish, Washington.

“The girls are working really hard,” BYU head coach Carrie Roberts said. “They are being really specific with what they work on and I feel we are getting better each day.”

BYU has improved at each tournament so far this year, and hopes for a solid finish at a tournament the Cougars took third at last year. Rose Huang, Naomi Soifua and Anna Kennedy all competed at last year’s tournament, with Huang and Soifua finishing in the top 20.

The Cougars got their first top-20 finishes of the season at the Coeur d'Alene Collegiate Invitational Sep. 24-25. Soifua tied for eighth place and Kennedy tied for 13th to put BYU in fifth place as a team. Huang is still looking for her first top-20 of the season, after doing so 10 times last year en route to an NCAA nationals appearance.

The golfers will play 36 holes on Tuesday, followed by a final, 18-hole round on Wednesday. Live stats and the leaderboard can be followed at Golfstat.
