BYU moves up to 13th after day two

PEBBLE BEACH, Calif. -- The BYU men's golf team moved up to 13th place after the second day of play in the Saint Mary's Invitational at Poppy Hills Golf Course.

"We saw improvement today," BYU head coach Bruce Brockbank said. "It's not where we'd like to be, but we improved and that's always a positive." 

After two rounds of play the Cougars have a total score of 608 (+40). San Diego State is in the lead at two-under-par. West Coast Conference foe and host Saint Mary's is in second place.

"We had a couple of good scores posted in the second round," Brockbank said. "Patrick FishburnZach Pritchard and CJ Lee played well for us today. Zach had some good putts today."

Sophomore Zach Pritchard led the Cougars, shooting even par on the day, and is currently tied for 35th place. Pritchard had two birdies and two bogeys in today's round. Fellow sophomore teammate CJ Lee shot one-over-par tand is tied for 50th place. Fishburn, who is tied for 40th place, shot five-over-par.

Freshmen Kaimakani Ruiz shot a 79 eight-over-par in the second round while Spencer Dunaway shot 12-over-par (+12).
