Postgame Quotes
BYU guard Jahshire Hardnett
On UNLV's 3-point shooting
Yeah definitely. I think that was us just not making shots and then defensively we started slacking and not being where we were supposed to be but in the second half I think we did a much better job.
On the second half comeback
Just our mindset. After we saw a few balls go in it boosted our defense intensity. We wanted to come out and have more intensity than we did in the first half.
On the positives from this game
"The second half comeback boosted us up. Two weeks ago I don't know if we would have been able to come back from that. We continued to fight and we played defense so I think that's a positive take.
BYU head coach Dave Rose
On tonight's comeback
Two weeks ago on a Saturday night we were in the locker room at halftime kind of in the same spot and hadn't played a great first half. We had couldn't find a formula to get ourselves back in the game and it ended up getting away from us. Even though this one will really hurt we found a way our guys can relate to and go back to.
On the outcome
It's just one of those games that you feel as a coach and as a team that you should have won it and that's going to sting for the guys.
