Natalie Lainhart prepped at Silverado High School in Las Vegas, Nevada. During her senior year she led her team to a 12-10 record while boasting 16.6 PPG and 13.7 RPG. She received all-region and all-state honors in the 4A classification.

Upon graduation, Lainhart attended the University of Idaho on a full-ride Division I basketball scholarship. After her redshirt season, she transferred to BYU-Hawaii to continue playing ball. After one year with BYU-Hawaii, she transferred to Salt Lake Community College. After her sophomore season, Lainhart stepped away from basketball due to two ACL tears within less than a year. Following her time playing basketball, she served and mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Anaheim, California. She served from January of 2015 to July of 2016, Spanish speaking.

After her mission, she returned to school at Utah Valley University. She started working at Edge in their marketing department, before moving up to Salt Lake to work in the Missionary Department of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints as an executive assistant for the in-field representatives. She worked there until she joined the Cougars in March of 2020.

She enjoys horseback riding, baking and planning events.

Natalie is the daughter of Allen and Kristy Lainhart. She has one brother, Aaron.
