Davies invited to NBA Draft Combine in Chicago

PROVO, Utah – Former BYU Cougar Brandon Davies will have another opportunity to impress NBA scouts next week as he received an invitation to the NBA Draft Combine in Chicago.

Davies is one of 60 players who received an invitation to the combine, which will be held on May 16 and 17 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. EDT each day. The event will be televised on ESPNU.

The Provo, Utah, native is coming off a senior season in which he averaged 17.7 points, 8.0 rebounds and 2.4 assists while shooting .522 from the field. He earned All-West Coast Conference honors while leading BYU to a 24-12 record and a trip to the semifinals of the National Invitational Tournament. Davies concluded his four-year career among the top 10 in program history in points, rebounds, blocks and steals.

After the conclusion of the 2012-13 season, Davies played in the Reese’s Division I College All-Star Game at The Georgia Dome. He totaled 12 points, nine rebounds and four assists while leading the East All-Stars to an 87-81 win over the West.

Following the all-star game, Davies participated in the Portsmouth Invitational Challenge, an eight-team, 12-game tournament in front of representatives from NBA teams and international leagues. He emerged as the top player at Portsmouth as he averaged 20.7 points, 9.3 boards, 3.0 assists, 1.0 blocks and 1.3 steals while leading his team to a 3-0 record. Davies was named MVP for his efforts.
