Cusick named to NABC Honors Court

PROVO, Utah – BYU guard Craig Cusick was named to the NABC Honors Court for the second-straight season.

Each year the National Association of Basketball Coaches recognizes collegiate basketball student-athletes excel in academics. In order to be named to the Honors Court, a student-athlete must meet a high standard of academic criteria. The qualifications are as follows:

  1. Academically a junior or senior and a varsity player.
  2. Cumulative G.P.A. of 3.2 or higher at the conclusion of the 2012-13 academic year.
  3. Students must have matriculated at least one year at their current institution.
  4. Member of an NCAA Division I, II, III, or NAIA Division I or II institution.

A senior in 2012-13, Cusick played in all 36 games and started 12 while helping BYU to a 24-12 record and a trip to the National Invitational Tournament semifinals. He averaged 3.8 points, 2.3 rebounds and 2.1 assists and shot .403 from three.

The Orem, Utah, native also earned WCC All-Academic honorable mention earlier this season. In 2011-12, Cusick received Academic All-WCC recognition and Silver Honors on the WCC Commissioner’s Honor Roll in addition to a spot on the NABC Honors Court.
