BYU vs. Utah Valley Game Notes

BYU basketball opens the 2015-16 season against cross-town foe Utah Valley Friday at 7 p.m. MST in the Marriott Center. The game will be televised live on BYUtv and broadcast live on the Cougar IMG Sports Network, KSL NewsRadio 102.7 FM/1160 AM and BYU Radio – Sirius XM 143. 

BYU Storylines

  • BYU opens its 11th season with Dave Rose at the helm. Rose is BYU’s all-time leader in winning percentage at 74.5 percent and second in career wins at 257. He has led the Cougars to 10-straight 20-win seasons and 10-straight postseason appearances, including eight NCAA tournament appearances during that stretch.
  • Senior guard Kyle Collinsworth was selected by the WCC coaches to the preseason All-WCC team. Collinsworth, an All-WCC performer the last two seasons, is coming off setting the NCAA single-season and tying the career record with six triple-doubles.
  • Senior guard Chase Fischer was 10th in the NCAA with 103 3-pointers last season, second-most in BYU history.
  • Collinsworth, Fischer and fellow senior Nate Austin have been named team captains for the 2015-16 season.
