BYU looks to complete Bay Area sweep at Santa Clara

Coming off a win at San Francisco, BYU basketball will look to complete the Bay Area sweep when the Cougars take on Santa Clara Saturday at 1 p.m. PST at Leavey Center. BYU won the first game between the Cougars and Broncos 97-61 on Jan. 7 in the Marriott Center.

The game will be televised live on BYUtv, TWC SportsNet, CSN California, ROOT Northwest and ROOT Rocky Mountain and broadcast live on the Cougar IMG Sports Network, KSL NewsRadio 102.7 FM/1160 AM and BYU Radio – Sirius XM 143. Live video streaming will be available on BYUtv.org and TheW.tv.

  • BYU’s 114 points scored at San Francisco are the most scored by the Cougars since posting 121 against Chaminade on Nov. 25, 2014. It was the most the Cougars have scored against a Division I opponent since Feb. 25, 1993, when BYU had 128 against Sacramento State.
  • BYU’s 17 3-pointers at San Francisco tied the team record set previously against Chaminade.
  • Nick Emery broke Danny Ainge’s record for points in a single game by a BYU freshman when he scored 37 at San Francisco. Ainge set the previous record on Dec. 3, 1977 when he scored 36 at Idaho State.
  • Chase Fischer has made 81 3s, 7th most in a season at BYU. He is one of 3 Cougars along with Jackson Emery and Jonathan Tavernari with two seasons with 80-plus 3s. Fischer made 103 3s last season.
