BYU vs. Valparaiso Game Notes

After three-straight home wins, No. 2 seed BYU basketball has advanced to the semifinals of the National Invitational Tournament where it will face No. 1 seed Valparaiso on Tuesday at 7 p.m. EDT in Madison Square Garden in New York. The winner of BYU vs. Valparaiso will face the winner of San Diego State and George Washington in the NIT championship game in Madison Square Garden on Thursday at 7 p.m. EDT.

Tuesday's game will be televised live on ESPN and broadcast live on the Cougar IMG Sports Network, 102.7 FM/1160 AM and BYU Radio – Sirius XM 143. Live video streaming will be available on WatchESPN.com.

  • Tuesday’s game against Valparaiso will mark BYU’s fourth trip to the semifinals of the NIT in Madison Square Garden. The first two times the Cougars reached the semifinals – in 1951 and 1966 – BYU won the NIT. In 2013, the Cougars were eliminated in the semifinals, falling to Baylor 76-70.
