Bryant named WCC Player of the Week

SAN BRUNO, Calif. – The West Coast Conference has named BYU guard Elijah Bryant its Men’s Basketball Player of the Week for Dec. 18, 2017. This is the second career WCC Player of the Week honor for Bryant.

Bryant scored a season-high 29 points while adding nine rebounds, four assists, one block and three steals to lead BYU to a 77-65 win over in-state rival Utah.

A junior from Gwinnett, Georgia, Bryant hit 8 of 13 from the field, 5 of 7 from downtown and a perfect 8 of 8 from the free-throw line. With BYU leading 27-22, he went on an 8-0 run with a pair of free throws and back-to-back 3s to give the Cougars a 35-22 advantage. He finished the first half with 13 points to help the Cougars lead 37-28 at the break.

Bryant dominated the second half, scoring 16 points and adding seven rebounds, a block and two steals to help the Cougars solidify the win against the Utes.
