Haws named WCC Player of the Week for a second time
SAN BRUNO, Calif. – The West Coast Conference has announced that BYU sophomore guard Tyler Haws is its men's basketball Player of the Week award-winner for Jan. 14, 2013.
Haws led BYU to wins over Pepperdine and Santa Clara last week while averaging 24.0 points and shooting .643 from the field, .400 from three and .909 from the free throw line. In addition to his stellar scoring and shooting numbers, Haws collected 3.5 rebounds and came away with 2.5 steals per game.
Haws was also named the WCC Player of the Week on Dec. 31, 2012. For the season Haws is averaging 21.3 points, 5.1 rebounds, 2.3 assists and 1.4 steals. He is shooting .491 from the field, .422 from three and .915 from the free throw line.
